Fanart - Treecko and Buneary

I have a Treecko and a Buneary plush. I have a lot of plushes. Sometimes when they haven't been straightened up for awhile, I find them in cute or funny positions (cue Twilight Zone music.)

Treecko x Buneary is one of my plush OTPs. (Pikachu x Piplup is my other.)

I know I'm strange, but that keeps my life interesting.

Fanart - Booby

Magby with a brassiere on its head. Because its Japanese name is Booby.

It also happens to be one of my favorite Pokemon. So cute. And technically part bird (where that hilarious Japanese name came from in the first place.)

A story. In the seventh grade, we had an election for naming the science class hamster. Some guys (in my homeroom, I think?) suggested Boober. I thought it was cute. When it came to my class to vote, I think I was the only one (or close to it) that voted for the name. It was really embarrassing (because of the uncomfortable silence, I can imagine what my classmates were thinking.) So I named my Magby on Pokemon Gold Boober instead. I forgot whether I already knew its Japanese name by then or whether it was a coincidence and pleasant surprise when I found out later Booby evolves into Boober (Magmar.)

Fanart - Poor Llama God

I believe it was a former roommate that said Arceus looked caught in a fence when I showed them a picture of it. Where's your god now Arceus?

Fanart - PokeTama SilverSoul Version

PokeTama: SilverSoul Version

Gin Tama (Silver Soul). Pokemon SoulSilver Version. Get it? One of my first thoughts when the names of the Gold and Silver remakes were released. Despite pretty much everyone looking derpy, I do like how Gintoki's hands and arms turned out and grumpy Bulbasaur. The poor little guy is humiliated to be in such a silly crossover, aww.

Fanart - The Bidoof Box

OI TEH HORROR

My brother wanted to restart his Diamond one time (Nintendo, why still no second or third game save slot?!) and so he was transferring his legendaries and main team over to me for safe keeping until he could trade back for them. So I gave him lots of Bidoof and Starly. Then I let him know I put his Dialga in the "Bidoof Box." Thus this inside joke started. We imagined how pissed Dialga must be (I think there were still some leftover Bidoof in the box.)

I even went so far as to reserve the last page of one of my small Pokemon card albums for my Dialga card and any Bidoof I can find. I have two Bidoof cards so far. Until I can fill up the page with a third, an Oshawott promo is filling the space. My brother dislikes Oshawott, so I think it's a worth placeholder. Also, my Oshawott and Bidoof plushies are good friends. (Otters and beavers are similar, no?)

Fanart - Eevee In Day Care Land

This was a day care joke, and I don't think it needs explaining. Though I realize that Ditto is like the Captain Jack Harkness in the Pokeverse (which will be the subject of one of my sketches later, because I feel it just has to be drawn.) The reason I chose Eevee as the victim (or lucky dog) is because of how common it is bred, just like starters and fossil Pokemon. And Eevee is cute and loved.

Fanart - Mine Or I Help You Not

The non-Pokemon fan in my family is always sure to tease us fans if they spot something strange concerning our hobby. Breeding and eggs is a recurring joke, along with misheard names (Remoraid? Hemorrhoid!) But some jokes aren't so naughty. I forgot the original situation of the joke (whether it was just a joke about Cubone's bone in general or there was a picture with both a Cubone and a Growlithe), but they mentioned it looked like a dog bone. And that gave me the idea for this sweet illustration, heh. Growlithe looks pretty off-model, but I like how Cubone turned out. I just want to hug him.

Fanart - Wobby Horror

I... I just don't know. I started off thinking how silly the new gender specific sprites were for Wobbuffet. The lipstick was hilarious. So I started drawing it on a couch, as though it were waiting for a hot date. But then the legs just sort of happened all PokeHorror Picture Show-like. What have I done?!

Fanart - Psycho Shroomish

Shroomish really has an unfortunate name. I think it's cute, but its design is way too grumpy to befit its name (unless it is perpetually pissed about its name.) I made it all better, though.

This would look a whole lot better in color and the joke would get across more, but that will have to be later, if ever, because I already have too much stuff to color.

Fanart - Castform's Design

I think Castform is cute and I admit that its weather gimmick really made me eager to find it in the game so I could try it out in battle. But that design... why does this exist, Nintendo? I wonder if there are foam mousepads of it? That would be hilarious.

Fanart - A Kick in the Cherubi

Hitmonlee kicking Cherubi in the... Cherubi. I drew several random Pokemon fanarts illustrating the weird Pokemon in-jokes my friends have. They are either based on mocking by the non-Pokefan, misheard names by the same non-fan, or just the rest of us goofing off. This one is just the threat, "I'm going to kick you in the Cherubi!"

Simple and doodly, but that's exactly what most of these Pokemon fanarts are- fun warm-ups to prepare myself for drawing my original stuff.

On a tangent, I find it sad how unwanted Cherubi plush seem to be. Some stayed on store shelves for nearly a year while other Jakks plush series came and went. I bought mine as soon as I saw it in stores and it had a Celebi card tag instead! Lucky! But that means I don't have a Cherubi card tag now. I collect the card/hang tags as bookmarks.

Fanart - Pokémon Team 2011

One of the Groups on deviantART had a contest where you draw yourself with a team of Pokémon. I missed it! They held it again. I said I would enter, but due to work on other things, I missed that one, too. For the first contest, I actually had a drawing all inked and ready to color...

White Team - Conkeldurr, Galvantula, Samurott, Reuniclus, Krookodile, and Braviary

I want a Conkeldurr plushie. SO. BAD.

Now I'm working on a different one, with mostly different Pokémon. The one that should have been entered into the second contest. Even if it's not for a contest anymore, it's something I still want to get done. Next Saturday, maybe there will be more drawings.
